 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. Represented by his deputy, Dr Peter Akpe, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in society as the custodians of culture and tradition, stressing that his administration will continue to hold them in high esteem. Anambra State Government Lifts The Suspension Of Three (3) Traditional Rulers Under Review
Anambra state government has lifted the suspension of Three (3) traditional rulers in the state previously suspended on the recommendations of the Anambra Traditional Rulers Council, with immediate effects.
According to the statement issued and signed by Hon. Greg Obi, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs Anambra State, dated 31st December 2020.
The statement reads...
His Excellency the Executive Governor of Anambra State, in a new year day act of magnanimity, has decided to lift the suspension of the three (3) remaining Traditional Rulers effective immediately in exercise of the powers bestowed on him under the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Law of 2007 as amended.
The affected Traditional Rulers are shown below:
1. IGWE KELLY N. NKELI of Igbariam
2. IGWE DR. EMEKA ILOUNO of ifitedunu
3. IGWE PETER .A. UYANWA of Ukwulu
