  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. Anambra State Government Lifts The Suspension Of Three (3) Traditional Rulers Under Review
Anambra state government has lifted the suspension of Three (3) traditional rulers in the state previously suspended on the recommendations of the Anambra Traditional Rulers Council, with immediate effects.
According to the statement issued and signed by Hon. Greg Obi, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs Anambra State, dated 31st December 2020.
The statement reads...
His Excellency the Executive Governor of Anambra State, in a new year day act of magnanimity, has decided to lift the suspension of the three (3) remaining Traditional Rulers effective immediately in exercise of the powers bestowed on him under the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Law of 2007 as amended.
The affected Traditional Rulers are shown below:
1. IGWE KELLY N. NKELI of Igbariam
2. IGWE DR. EMEKA ILOUNO of ifitedunu
3. IGWE PETER .A. UYANWA of Ukwulu

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
