 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Inauguration of Committee on Umuleri & Aguleri Boundary Dispute
His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, Governor of Anambra State has set up a Committee to look into the boundary dispute between Aguleri and Umuleri.
The Committee’s Terms of Reference Are:
(1) To establish the immediate cause of the dispute between the two communities, that occurred on Saturday, 16th January,2021, between Aguleri and Umuleri.
(2) Invite and interview the families that own the lands in dispute.
(3) Establish the boundaries between Aguleri and Umuleri as a whole.
(4) Recommend other possible solutions that will guarantee lasting peace in the area.
(5) The committee has 3 weeks to conclude its assignment.

(2) Permanent Secretary, office of the Secretary to the State Government ( Secretary)

(15) Transition Committee Chairman of Anambra East Local Government Area
Members of the Committee will be sworn in on Tuesday, 19th January 2021 by His Excellency, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Deputy Governor of Anambra State at the Deputy Governor’s Conference Hall. Time is 11am.
