 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. In continuation of the Multimodal Master Plan in the transportation sector, the Yaba Overpass will be closed temporarily for three weeks from Tuesday 9th to Tuesday, 23rd February, 2021.
According to a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, the lane closure is necessary to commence soil testing along Muritala Mohammed Way, Ojuelegba Road, and Tejuosho as part of the Traffic Management Plan to actualise the LRMT Red Line Phase 1, Oyingbo to Agbado.
The Commissioner, therefore, advised motorists to utilise the main carriageway during the temporary closure, assuring that the State Traffic Management personnel will be available to direct traffic for minimal inconvenience to road users.
Oladeinde also implored residents of the State, especially motorists plying the corridor, to cooperate and support the State Government in its efforts to bring about lasting solutions to the transportation challenges across the Lagos metropolis.
