 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. *POLICE OPERATIVES BURST ANOTHER NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERY SYNDICATE TERRORISING NKPOR/OBOSI AXIS*
..Nab two suspects,recover arms and ammunition.
On the 27/2/2021 at about 5:30pm,following a distress call that armed robbers were operating along Nkpor/Obosi axis,Police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti-cult unit in conjunction with Scorpion vigilante group,Obosi quickly responded and moved to the scene.On sighting the police,the hoodlums engaged them into a fierce gun battle,as a result,the two suspects sustained gunshot injuries on their hand and leg leading to their arrest as follows,
(i).Chiboy Ezike 'm' aged 25years of Abagana in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State and,
(i).Chiemere Ajuluchukwu 'm' aged 23years of Awada area.
Suspects equally confessed to be members of a secret cult group called "Supreme Vikings Confraternity".Exhibits recovered in their possessions include Two Locally made pistols and 10 live cartridges.Suspects were taken to the hospital for treatment after which they will be charged to court for prosecution.
Meanwhile,the Commissioner of Police *CP Monday Bala Kuryas,fsi* thanked "Ndi Anambra" for their cooperation and urged them to sustain the tempo by assisting the Command with actionable intelligence in order to discover authors of crime in the State.The CP further reassure the public that the command under his watch will continue to protect lives and properties of all the citizens in accordance with internationally acceptable best practises.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
