 Police probe Sallah killings in Kano, invite Emir Sanusi for questioning The Police Force has invited Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II for questioning over the killings during the Sallah celebration in Kano. The letter dated April 4, 2025 and signed by CP Olajide Rufus Ibitoye, Commissioner of Police (Operations), said the invitation was under the directive of the Inspector General of Police. The monarch is to report to the Force Intelligence Department, opposite the Police headquarters, Area 11, Abuja, on Tuesday, April 8 by 10:00am. “I have the directives of the Inspector General of police, through the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Department (FID) to invite you for an investigative meeting with regards to an incident that occurred during the Sallah celebration within your domain. “Your availability is highly sought for a purposeful investigation,” the invitation letter emphasised. GOMBE GOVT TO PAY OUTSTANDING GRATUITY TO STATE RETIREES TOMORROW,AS GOVERNOR RELEASES N775M.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Gombe state Government is set to commence the payment of another tranche of outstanding gratuity to retired civil servants in the state.
This follows the release of 775 million Naira by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the payment of the retirees' benefits.
Sequel to the Governor's directives, the committee set up by His Excellency to verify and ascertain the correctness of outstanding gratuity owed state retirees has concluded arrangements to commence the payment and therefore requests retired state civil servants from January to December 2015, to come forward for verfication and collection of their entitlements.
The exercise, according to the Chairman of the committee and State Auditor-General, Muhammad Buba Gombe will hold tomorrow, Monday, 15th March, 2021 at the Treasury Headquarters, Gombe by 9:00 O'clock in the morning.
According to the committee, LIFE RETIREES
are to come along with Audited Computation sheet, Bank Verification Number (BVN), Civil Service Commission ( CSC) approval for retirement and Identification Card (I.D Card) while dependants of LATE RETIREES are to present Letter of Administration (from the probate Registry High Court of Justice, Gombe State), Death Certicate and Original Computation sheet
Recall that the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya had inherited liabilities of gratuity arrears of over N14 billion from the past administration which had abandoned the payment of the retirees' entitlement since 2014. Governor Inuwa had earlier approved the payment of over N1.6 billion for payment of gratuity arrears.’

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
