 ANAMBRA POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED DRUG DEALER, RECOVER ILLICIT DRUGS WORTH ₦5.8 MILLION IN OTUOCHA As CP Nnanna notes that illicit drugs can fuel criminality, charges officers to sustain targeted operations to nip crime in the bud The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old suspected drug dealer, identified as Chinedu Nwankwo, and recovered a large quantity of suspected Cannabis Sativa, Methamphetamine and Colorado (Colos), estimated at ₦5.8 million. The suspect was arrested in the early hours of today, 29th August 2026, by operatives of the Rapid Response Team during an intelligence-driven patrol operation along the Nteje–Otuocha Road. Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect was allegedly conveying the illicit substances to Otuocha, Anyamelium, Nzam, Umuleri and Aguleri areas for delivery to suspected criminal elements. GOMBE GOVT TO PAY OUTSTANDING GRATUITY TO STATE RETIREES TOMORROW,AS GOVERNOR RELEASES N775M.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

Gombe state Government is set to commence the payment of another tranche of outstanding gratuity to retired civil servants in the state.
This follows the release of 775 million Naira by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the payment of the retirees' benefits.
Sequel to the Governor's directives, the committee set up by His Excellency to verify and ascertain the correctness of outstanding gratuity owed state retirees has concluded arrangements to commence the payment and therefore requests retired state civil servants from January to December 2015, to come forward for verfication and collection of their entitlements.
The exercise, according to the Chairman of the committee and State Auditor-General, Muhammad Buba Gombe will hold tomorrow, Monday, 15th March, 2021 at the Treasury Headquarters, Gombe by 9:00 O'clock in the morning.
According to the committee, LIFE RETIREES
are to come along with Audited Computation sheet, Bank Verification Number (BVN), Civil Service Commission ( CSC) approval for retirement and Identification Card (I.D Card) while dependants of LATE RETIREES are to present Letter of Administration (from the probate Registry High Court of Justice, Gombe State), Death Certicate and Original Computation sheet
Recall that the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya had inherited liabilities of gratuity arrears of over N14 billion from the past administration which had abandoned the payment of the retirees' entitlement since 2014. Governor Inuwa had earlier approved the payment of over N1.6 billion for payment of gratuity arrears.’
