 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. OLOKOLA FREE TRADE ZONE CAN POSITION OGUN STATE AS MAJOR INDUSTRIAL HUB IN NIGERIA-AFCFTA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

The National Action on African Continental Free Trade Area AFCFTA has described the Olokola Free Trade Zone as a critical investment which has the potentials of further positioning Ogun State as a major industrial hub in the country.
The chairman of the Committee, Mr. Babafemi Lawal made this known during a sensitization visit to the Olokola Free Trade Zone stressing that the renewed commitment of the the State government would ensure more attention is given to the project.
Lawal lauded the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for showing committment towards the project.
He added that the Committee was in the State to ensure government and businesses key into the various opportunities and benefits that are available through the African Free Continental Trade Agreement stressing that businesses based in the country must see the Agreement as an opportunity rather than a threat.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Ogun Water side Local Government Area, Hon. Femi Onanuga lauded the present administration for its efforts at ensuring the project fulfills its potentials and translate into improvement in the State economy. More photos below.
