 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. PDP Disowns Fake Townhall Meeting, Alerts Nigerians
The attention of our great party has been drawn to fliers, advertisements and publications by certain faceless individuals, posturing to have the approval and backing of our party to invite Nigerians to a purported 'Generation Next in PDP' Townhall meeting.
The makers of the said advertisement even went ahead to list some leaders and members of our party, including Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governor Aminu Bello Tambuwal of Sokoto State, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, the Deputy National Chairman, North of the PDP, Senator Suleiman Nazif among others, as speakers in the supposed event, in a bid to bestow a semblance of legitimacy to the scheme.
For the avoidance of doubt, the PDP states in an unequivocal term, that it did not authorize nor is it in any way involved or connected with the event or these organizers.
The PDP therefore alerts the public, particularly our members and teeming supporters to completely disregard the said event as it has nothing to do with our party.
