Ondo State Government Orders Fumigation Of NAF Aircraft Crash Site, Distributes Health Kits

Ondo state governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has directed fumigation of the river where the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crashed in Igbokoda, Ilaje local government area, following complaints by residents over a strong stench from the water.

The intervention is aimed at reducing potential health risks and preventing possible disease outbreaks, as the river serves as a major source of livelihood for residents of Igbokoda and neighbouring communities.

In a statement issue by the commissioner for information and orientation, Idowu Ajanaku,  the governor also directed  Ilaje local government to provide water tankers for the continuous supply of potable water if the river was found to be severely polluted and unsafe for use.

The arrangement is expected to remain in place pending a lasting solution to the pollution concerns.

The ministries of health and environment have also been directed to distribute nose masks and other essential health kits to residents to protect them from potential health hazards.

Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed government's commitment to supporting the Nigerian Air Force's ongoing evacuation efforts and ensuring the safety and welfare of residents of the affected community.
