 MODEL COLLEGES/UPGRADED JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS COMMENCE E-REGISTRATION FOR YEAR 2025 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The Lagos State Government has commenced Year 2025 e-Registraton Entrance Examination (Screening Test) for primary 6 pupils transiting to junior secondary schools into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools.  The Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu confirmed that the e-Registration will commence on Thursday 6th February and ends on Friday, 16th May, 2025, adding that the Screening will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) only between Wednesday, 28th May and Friday, 30th May, 2025, at the various CBT designated centres across the State. Mr. Orunsolu stressed that qualified pupils from public and private Schools are to pay a sum of #10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for the Application. STUDENT OF AIR FORCE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL EMERGES WINNER OF NATIONAL SCIENCE COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Master Edeani Izuchukwu, a student of Air Force Comprehensive School (AFCS) Agbani, Enugu State has emerged winner of the just concluded National Science Competitive Examination where he was awarded the “774 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award”. The competition is organised annually by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and opened to all secondary schools nationwide. Izuchukwu, a Senior Secondary 3 student representing Enugu State, came first at the grand finale of the competitive examination held on 14 March 2021 in Abuja. He emerged the Best Overall among several other students from the 36 States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory. The award presentation took place on Monday, 15 March 2021 at the Eagle Square, venue of the ongoing Technology and Innovation Expo 2021. The Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo presented Master Edeani with his award which included a plaque, N1 Million and scholarship up to PhD level in any Nigerian University of his choice.

It would be recalled that a similar feat was achieved by Master Peter Arotiba of Air Force Secondary School, Ikeja when he emerged best overall candidate in the 2018 May/June West African Examination Council (WAEC) in the entire West African Sub-region with 9 A-1s in 9 Subjects, beating over 1.9 million candidates that sat for the Examination.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
