 Danjuma’s call for self-defense may lead to anarchy – Gov Namadi …Says State Police Still in the Works Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has disagreed with the recent remarks made by former Chief of Army Staff, General Theophilus Danjuma, urging Nigerians to defend themselves in the face of growing insecurity. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, Governor Namadi warned that such a call could lead to chaos. “He (Danjuma) is a very senior security person, and should be respected. But if he says that citizens should be allowed to defend themselves, I think you are causing anarchy,” Namadi said. “His words need to be analysed carefully.” The governor emphasized that the government is actively working to improve the country’s security architecture. Governor Willie Obiano has called on stakeholders in the state to make calls for stoppage of all forms of aggression against the police and other security agencies in the state.
Governor Obiano made the call during a statewide broadcast on the successful rescue and release of the abducted Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne.
Recall that the release by the Anambra State Police Command confirmed the safety of the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engr Emeka Ezenwanne who was released today, 4th April 2021.
He was abducted following the attack at Isuofia Civic Center that led to the murder of three (3) Police Officers by some hoodlums, while five suspects in connection with the incident were arrested.
According to the Governor, immediately after the unfortunate incident, the state security architecture swung into action, stressing that no ransome was demanded or given before his release.
While commiserating with the families of the slain officers, the Governor condemned the attack, pointing out that the aftermath of the ENDSARS protest is still very fresh in the mind and will not be allowed to repeat itself.
Governor Obiano who assured that the state is on steady rise to greatness, appreciated the security operatives, urging them to continue discharging their duty professionally.
The Governor concluded by wishing ndi Anambra a happy Easter, calling for a reflection of the message of the season on the lives of ndi Anambra.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
