 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. IMO STATE: GOVERNOR KAYODE FAYEMI COMMISSIONS CHUKWUMA NWOHA ROAD.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

The Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has commissioned the Chukwuma Nwoha dual carriage road constructed by the shared prosperity government of Gov. Hope Uzodimma in Owerri, the Imo State Capital today.
Gov. Hope Uzodimma in his welcome address, appreciated the august visitor for making out time to join him in this epoch making event and being part of history in commissioning a road that hitherto has been a nightmare to the people but today the joy and pride of the state.
In his speech, Gov. Fayemi described Gov. Uzodimma as a man who stands to his words and his legacies are speaking volume of him and how delighted he is to be part of the 3R agenda in Imo State.
He added that the Chukwuma Nwoha road is a testimony to the goodwill of the governor to Imo state and congratulated Gov. Hope Uzodimma for been able to achieve this and many more with little resources at his disposal. He further pleaded with Imo people to embrace peace as the panacea for the sustainability of the developments in the state and declared that Imo can only move forward and never backwards.
On the state of Imo roads, Gov. Kayode Fayemi said “With the quality of roads am seeing here and the contractors involved, Imo should be rest assured that the roads constructed will last for a very long time.”
In their separate remarks, the federal commissioner for Imo state in the federal character commission, Barr. Willie Amadi has described the Chukwuma Nwoha road as an international standard road with a world Class Underground drainage system. He recounted the ordeal faced by landlords which forced them to sell their houses and appreciated Gov. Hope Uzodimma for changing their stories while describing what is happening in Imo State as road revolution.

The CEO ABC Transport, Chief Frank Nneji who spoke on behalf of the private sector expressed his gratitude to Gov. Hope Uzodimma for the reconstruction of the Chukwuma Nwoha road stating that the governor has unlocked the economy cum business opportunities through the road.
The Anglican Bishop of Egbu Diocese, Rt. Revd. Geoffrey Okoroafor has appreciated Gov. Hope Uzodimma for showing his political will and courage in reconstructing the Chukwuma Nwoha road which has been a nightmare to the people.
