 Nigeria, Saudi Arabia tighten the noose on drug cartels as NDLEA, GDNC sign MoU  . It’s a partnership that’ll reinforce frontline of law enforcement against global drug trafficking networks, says Marwa in Riyadh The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to strengthen operational partnership and tighten the noose on drug trafficking networks operating between both countries. Highlights of the MoU include: exchange of intelligence between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, the Saudi will avail NDLEA its training Academy for joint training, provision of operational logistics to NDLEA, conduct of joint investigations and exchange of data on convicts. PRESIDENT BUHARI EXPRESSES THE NATION'S CONDOLENCES OVER THE DEMISE OF PRINCE PHILIP.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

President Muhammadu Buhari extends his condolences to Her Majesty the Queen over the death of her husband Prince Philip who passed on peacefully at the age of 99.
Reacting to the death of the longest serving Queen's consort, President Buhari said:
"The death of the Duke of Edinburgh is the end of an era. Prince Philip was one of the greatest and publicly recognisable international figures whose contributions to the Commonwealth will be remembered for generations to come."
According to the President, "Prince Philip was a great man in his own right who made enormous contributions to philanthropic activities and charities especially for wildlife conservation and youth development programmes in more than 130 countries."
President Buhari pays tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh as "a remarkable husband who had been happily married to the Queen since 1947," saying "this is an impressive record for any marriage at any level."
The President also commiserates with the Government of the United Kingdom, the members of the Commonwealth "for the sad loss of this royal and indeed global icon."

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
