 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. Second KDSG Security Update: Wednesday 19th May 2021.
Armed bandits invade herders' settlement in Igabi LGA
- Three herders killed, cows rustled.
Security agencies have reported that armed bandits attacked a herders settlement in Marraban Jos, Rigachikun, Igabi local government area.
According to the report, the bandits invaded the settlement and rustled an unspecified number of cows. In the course of this, three of the herders were killed by the armed bandits.
The deceased are identified as:
- Ibrahim Abubakar
- Abdullahi Maitashi
- Umar Abbas
Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed sadness at the attack, and commiserated with the herders' families, as he prayed for the repose of their souls.
