 Plateau: 51 get mass burial as death toll hits 53 •Tinubu, Atiku react Death toll in the attack on Zike Kimakpa community in Kwall District of Irigwe Chiefdom, Bassa Local Government, Plateau State has risen to 53. Initial reports gave the future as 47, but a source close to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said more bodies were recovered after the villagers combed surrounding bushes. Several others were also wounded in the Incident, which occurred on Sunday night . National  Publicity Secretary, Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Samuel Jugo, confirmed that the 51 killed were given a mass burial yesterday amidst tears and wailing by relations and other sympathisers who thronged the burial site. It was gathered  that the gunmen in large numbers, rode into the area on motorbikes at about 11:32 pm on Sunday and went on a killing rampage till the early hours of yesterday ,killing  no fewer than 53 persons. Armed bandits invade herders' settlement in Igabi LGA
- Three herders killed, cows rustled.
Security agencies have reported that armed bandits attacked a herders settlement in Marraban Jos, Rigachikun, Igabi local government area.
According to the report, the bandits invaded the settlement and rustled an unspecified number of cows. In the course of this, three of the herders were killed by the armed bandits.
The deceased are identified as:
- Ibrahim Abubakar
- Abdullahi Maitashi
- Umar Abbas
Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed sadness at the attack, and commiserated with the herders' families, as he prayed for the repose of their souls.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
