  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. CHANGE OF BATON: SP BALA ELKANA TAKES OVER AS PPRO IMO STATE COMMAND.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

The immediate former Imo state police command public relation officer, SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando has officially handover to SP  the Bala Elkana following recent change in the leadership of the public relation office in Imo state police command, as the newly appointed Police Public Relations Officer of Command.


In a press statement by the immediate past Command's Spokesperson, SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando stated that, "Imo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that a new Police Public Relations Officer has been posted to the Command. He is SP Bala Elkana. He takes over from SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando who has been redeployed to Ondo State Police Command."


"SP Bala Elkana was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 2003. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB), master degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (MSC), Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) among other academic qualifications.


He attended several courses among which are Leadership Training, Detective Course, Community Policing, Trainee Course, Combat Operation Course, Emergency Management Course, Police Relations Course. He is a member of the National Institute of Public Relations and also a member of International Association of Chiefs of Police, A Fellow and ICON of Corporate Institute of Adminsitartion.


He has served the force in different capacities notably: - Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Niger, Akwa Ibom and Lagos State Police Commands, respectively. He has also received so many awards among which are: - Best PRO in Nigeria 2020, Best PRO in Africa and Best PRO in Central and West Africa by Security Watch Africa.
