 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. GOV. FINTIRI CONNECTS TOUNGO LG TO NATIONAL GRID.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

Former deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Bello Tukur Friday commissioned Toungo electrification project provided by the Fintiri led administration.
Speaking at the event in Toungo, Senator Tukur thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for actualizing the project which he said has great socioeconomic benefits to the people.
He described Governor Umaru Fintiri as one of the best performing governors in the country acknowledged with excitement his developmental projects in Adamawa.
Governor Umaru Fintiri said project is a 33kv main line from Ganye Tee Junction to Toungo and linked to the YEDC main station with 11kv Low Tension in Gamu and installed transformers and distribution lines.
The Governor added that the second phase is the one from Toungo to Kirri which has already seen ninety percent poles erection and is still in progress declaring that his administration will soon commission the project.
There were goodwill messages from the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, the All Progressives Congress (APC) member representing Toungo in the State House of Assembly and chairman Toungo local government council, Mr Kefas Kelvin.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development Alhaji Abdullahi Prambe urged the people of Toungo to take full responsibility of protecting the facility.
