McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace. Former deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Bello Tukur Friday commissioned Toungo electrification project provided by the Fintiri led administration.
Speaking at the event in Toungo, Senator Tukur thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for actualizing the project which he said has great socioeconomic benefits to the people.
He described Governor Umaru Fintiri as one of the best performing governors in the country acknowledged with excitement his developmental projects in Adamawa.
Governor Umaru Fintiri said project is a 33kv main line from Ganye Tee Junction to Toungo and linked to the YEDC main station with 11kv Low Tension in Gamu and installed transformers and distribution lines.
The Governor added that the second phase is the one from Toungo to Kirri which has already seen ninety percent poles erection and is still in progress declaring that his administration will soon commission the project.
There were goodwill messages from the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, the All Progressives Congress (APC) member representing Toungo in the State House of Assembly and chairman Toungo local government council, Mr Kefas Kelvin.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development Alhaji Abdullahi Prambe urged the people of Toungo to take full responsibility of protecting the facility.
