 HERDSMEN KILL DRIVER ON HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN TARABA STATE  10th January, 2026      A commercial driver, Mr. Amishe Omeny, has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on a humanitarian visit to a displaced community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The deceased, from Tse Amise after Tseem, was reportedly attacked on Friday within Chanchanji Ward as he travelled to Adokia, a displaced settlement located after Tseem Sabe. He was said to have gone to the area to assist villagers with the transportation of foodstuffs. Sources in the community told Benue Info-pedia, that Omeny volunteered his services as a driver to support residents affected by ongoing insecurity, when he was ambushed and killed by the assailants. The killing has sparked grief and outrage among residents, who described the incident as tragic and senseless. The Governor of Imo State, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma have congratulated the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe(Agbogidi) on his 80th birthday celebration this weekend.
Gov. Hope Uzodimma while felicitating with the royal octogenarian described him as a blessing not just to his home state Anambra but to Nigeria as a country and a royal father whose pedigree and antecedents keeps speaking volume of his personality as topnotch.
He extolled the virtues of Igwe Achebe and as the Chairman of Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers have displayed uncommon wisdom and intelligence which has brought flair to the traditional institution of Anambra State and in Nigeria.
The Governor in his words said, “Igwe Achebe has been an inspiration to many people through his sincere lifestyle, service to humanity, amongst other unrivaled qualities that stands him out as a respected monarch.”
Gov. Hope Uzodimma used the occasion to pray to God for and wish the revered Igwe Achebe many more years, Good health, sound mind, so that he can live long for the society and many to tap into his vast wealth of wise counsels.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
