ALL PAYMENTS, FEES FOR PROPERTY REGISTRATION NOW CONSOLIDATED - HoS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

The Lagos State Government has consolidated all payments, fees and taxes for property registration into a single demand notice to make it easier doing business in the State.
Speaking at the Y2021 Annual Ministerial Press Briefing, the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, disclosed that the initiative has led to a reduction in the average number of days required to obtain the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and Governor’s Consent from 72 to 61 days.
Muri-Okunola said the decision was government’s response to the continuous demand from stakeholders in the built environment, through the State’s independent online complaints and feedback mechanism, the CITIZENSGATE.
According to him, the State Government took a step further to activate the e-planning platform for the submission of all construction permit applications, noting that the fees, procedures and laws are now fully publicised on the web while there is also a reduction in the average number of days for obtaining construction permits from 42 to 28 days.
The HoS said that due to the contribution and support of the State Government to the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Initiative, the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) recognised the achievements of Lagos, particularly in the area of Construction Permit and Registering Property and therefore, granted Lagos the Presidential Impact Award in year 2020.
