 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. FINANCIAL AUTONOMY: NIGERIAN GOVERNORS FORUM DISCUSS IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

The Nigerian Governors Forum has been discussing modalities for the implementation of the financial autonomy granted State's Judiciary and the Legislature. 


Adamawa State Governor, Rt.Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Friday joined Chairman of the forum and Governor of Ekiti State Dr Kayode Fayemi, Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong and their Niger State counterpart, Abubakar Sani Bello at the critical meeting. 


The Adamawa State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Afraimu Jingi and the Commissioner of Finance Dr Ishaya Dabari were among other Attorneys General and Commissioners of Finance from the 36 State's at the meeting. Governor Kayode Fayemi Chair of the forum noted that the decision is in the interest of all the parties involved. 


The meeting deliberated on issues that revolved around financial autonomy for the State's Judiciary and Legislature. 

This follows the executive order 10, 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari. 


The Federal Government had given a strong warning that refusal could force them to deduct at source by the Accountant General of the Federation and remitted to the two organs.
