 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school. GOV. ABIODUN VISITS GAS EXPLOSION SCENE, OPIC, CONDOLES WITH VICTIMS, FAMILIES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun was in Lagos this afternoon on an assessment visit to the scene of the gas explosion that rocked the Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation, OPIC Plaza and its environs in Ikeja.
On the visit, the Governor sympathised with families of persons who lost their lives as well as individuals and businesses who lost properties in the tragic incident. He also expressed strong hopes that survivors, who were receiving treatment in hospital, would recuperate speedily.
Speaking, Governor Abiodun appreciated first responders, especially the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA for their prompt and effective response which deescalated what could have been worse than what occured.
The Governor condoled with the entire Management and staff of the OPIC, led by its Managing Director, Arch. Biodun Fari.
The clearly grief-struck Governor was in company with some cabinet members and others.
