 HERDSMEN KILL DRIVER ON HUMANITARIAN MISSION IN TARABA STATE  10th January, 2026      A commercial driver, Mr. Amishe Omeny, has been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on a humanitarian visit to a displaced community in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. The deceased, from Tse Amise after Tseem, was reportedly attacked on Friday within Chanchanji Ward as he travelled to Adokia, a displaced settlement located after Tseem Sabe. He was said to have gone to the area to assist villagers with the transportation of foodstuffs. Sources in the community told Benue Info-pedia, that Omeny volunteered his services as a driver to support residents affected by ongoing insecurity, when he was ambushed and killed by the assailants. The killing has sparked grief and outrage among residents, who described the incident as tragic and senseless. Kwara Court Remands Unilorin, Kwara Poly Students over Love Scam


The Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, June 28, 2021 arraigned one Ganiyy Rasak, a 300Level student of the University of Ilorin and one Olakunle Adebisi, an ND II student of the Kwara State Polytechnic on one count separate charge bordering on love scam before Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin.


The charge against Ganiyy reads: "That you,  Ganiyy Rasaq Olarewaju (Richard Hadden), sometime in May, 2021 in Ilorin within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did attempt to cheat by personation when you pretended to be one Richard Hadden, a white female with a gmail account haddenrichard56@gmail.com and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 95 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 324 of the same Penal Code. "


Particulars of the charge against Olakunle read: “That you, Olakunle Adebisi, sometime in May, 2021 in Ilorin within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did attempt to cheat by personation when you pretended to be one Anny Banana, a white female with a gmail account annybanana346@gmail.com and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 95 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 324 of the Penal Code."


The defendants pleaded guilty.


Upon their plea, counsel to the EFCC, Sesan Ola led Dagogo Urowayino and Shetima Yusuf (both operatives of the Commission) to review the facts of the case against Rasak and Adebisi, respectively.


The two prosecution witnesses narrated how the defendants were arrested and tendered several fraudulent messages printed from their emails. The documents and the defendants’ phones were later admitted in evidence.


Consequently, Justice Abdulgafar fixed Thursday, July 1, 2021 for judgement and ordered that Adebisi be remanded in a Correctional facility while Rasaq was remanded in EFCC custody.
