 EFCC Arraigns Two Suspected Fraudsters for Impersonating Kano Oil Mogul The Kano Zonal Directorate of the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , EFCC, has arraigned the duo of Sulaiman Inuwa Zakiru and Aliyu Ahmed before Honourable Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu of the Kano State High Court on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretenses.   The defendants allegedly conspired to impersonate Alhaji A.A. Rano, a prominent oil mogul and owner of A.A. Rano Oil and Gas Limited and defrauded their victims  the sum of  N12,000,000 (Twelve Million Naira) for payment for an oil allocation purportedly issued by A.A. Rano Oil and Gas. The principal suspect, Sulaiman Inuwa Zakiru allegedly defrauded the petitioner  by claiming that A. A. LBSL DISCLAIMS ONLINE, FRAUDULENT VACANCY ADVERTS.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

The Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) has called on members of the public not to fall victim to a false online recruitment advertisement purportedly being circulated on behalf of the Agency.
According to a statement signed by the Managing Director/CEO of LBSL, Mr. Idowu Oguntona, the online advertisement did not emanate from LBSL, neither was it sponsored on behalf of the company by any Agency.
While urging members of the public to disregard such advertorial, he advised the citizenry to always verify the source or sources of employment vacancies before taking any action on them.
Oguntona emphasised that when LBSL decides to recruit staff, it will be duly publicised through all the State government channels and social media platforms, adding that the general public should be wary about online recruitments by faceless and dubious minded individuals, who are out to scam innocent individuals.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
