 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026. Buhari appoints Emmanuel Jime as head of the Nigerian Shipping Council


President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of Emmanuel Lyambee Jime as Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council.


The appointment is for a renewable term of four years.


Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu made the announcement in a statement Thursday night.


Jime, who has a law degree, is expected to use his vast experience in the new position having distinguished himself in various public positions.


The designated person was previously Managing Director of the Nigerian Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA).


Jime was a member of the House of Representatives for two terms. Represented the Makurdi / Guma Federal Constituency of Benue between 2007 and 2015.


Jime was Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly from 1992 to 1993.


The Shippers Council provides a forum for the protection of shippers’ interests in matters affecting the shipment of imports and exports to and from Nigeria.
