 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. SULTAN OF SOKOTO COMMISSIONS BAUCHI HAJJ CAMP NAMED AFTER HIM.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

 

His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar today commissioned the Bauchi Hajj Camp constructed and named after him by the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Sultan of Sokoto appreciated Governor Bala for the construction of the facility in accordance to international standard.
Sultan Abubakar said naming the facility after him is a challenge to him and therefore will do everything possible to the best of his ability to ensure its proper utilization.
He appealed to Governor Bala not to relent in working for the welfare of his people saying that that will contribute to the success of his administration.
In his speech, Governor Bala said the Hajj Camp has an administrative block, camp clinic, screening hall, multipurpose hall, a mosque and lock-up shops.
Others according to the Governor include food canteen, male and female hostels, kitchen and other conviniences.
He said all these have been provided for the optimum comfort and safety of intending pilgrims to the Holy land.
Governor Bala added that his administration decided to construct the new Hajj Camp because of the bad condition of the former temporary camp at Games Village hence the need to provide conducive environment for pilgrims and officials during hajj exercise.
Governor Bala therefore charged the State Muslim Welfare Board to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of the camp.
Also speaking, the Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), represented by the National Commissioner in charge of operations, Magaji Hardawa said the newly constructed Hajj Camp is one of the best in the entire African continent.
Others who spoke at the ceremony including the Speaker of BAHA, Rt Honorable Abubakar Y Sulaiman described the facility as a legacy project and assured their support to proper utilization of the camp.
