Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. EID EL KABIR: COAS OBSERVES EID PRAYERS AT THE FRONT LINES.[PHOTOS].#PRESS RELEASE.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has performed this year's Eid-El Kabir prayers with troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) at the 212 parade ground in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri. 


Lieutenant General Yahaya observed the prayers along with Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, officers and soldiers of Theatre Command OPHK.


Delivering the EID sermon, the Acting Deputy Director Islamic Affairs 7 Division, Captain Mohammed Babangida prayed for peace and security of the nation. He made supplications to Allah for mercy, guidance and divine protection for the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and all members of the Armed Forces, especially in the ongoing fight against insurgency and other security challenges in the country.
