 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. Governor Samuel Ortom, on behalf of his family, the Government and people of Benue State, congratulates the Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty, Professor James Ayatse on his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari as Chancellor, University of Benin. 


The Governor describes the appointment as well deserved. He states that the wealth of experience of the Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation as former Vice-Chancellor, University of Agriculture, Makurdi and Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Dutsin-Ma in Katsina State, will immensely benefit the University of Benin. 


He appreciates President Buhari for the appointment of the Tor Tiv and expresses the hope that more Benue sons and daughters will be given key appointments at the federal level. 


Governor Ortom wishes His Royal Majesty, Professor Ayatse a successful tenure as the University Chancellor and prays God to bless him with good health and wisdom.
