 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. Governor Samuel Ortom, on behalf of his family, the Government and people of Benue State, congratulates the Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty, Professor James Ayatse on his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari as Chancellor, University of Benin. 


The Governor describes the appointment as well deserved. He states that the wealth of experience of the Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation as former Vice-Chancellor, University of Agriculture, Makurdi and Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Dutsin-Ma in Katsina State, will immensely benefit the University of Benin. 


He appreciates President Buhari for the appointment of the Tor Tiv and expresses the hope that more Benue sons and daughters will be given key appointments at the federal level. 


Governor Ortom wishes His Royal Majesty, Professor Ayatse a successful tenure as the University Chancellor and prays God to bless him with good health and wisdom.
