 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower. Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, Senator representing Borno Central, Kashim Shettima, and the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali, led top government officials and other muslim faithful to perform two Rak'at Eid Prayers in Maiduguri on Tuesday. 


The Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, Senator representing Southern Borno, Mohammed Ali Ndume, Chief Whip of the House of Representative, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan and the State APC Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, were among dignitaries that attended the eid prayer. 


The eid prayer held at Ramat Square, a large space with capacity for thousands of persons was led by Imam Idaini of Borno, Shettima Mamman Saleh. 


In his sermon, Imam Shettima Ibn Saleh urged Muslim faithful to pray for peace to return to the state and the country at large.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
