 The vest did the job - Donald Trump confirms agent injured in D.C. shooting scare Donald Trump has confirmed that a Secret Service agent was injured during a shooting scare at a major press event in Washington, D.C. Speaking after the incident, Trump said the officer was hit at close range but avoided serious harm thanks to protective gear.  “One officer was shot but saved by the fact that he was wearing a very good bulletproof vest,” he said, adding that the agent is now recovering and in good spirits. The situation unfolded during the White House Correspondents' Dinner, where attendees were settling in for the evening when gunfire was heard. Witnesses described a sudden shift from calm to panic, with people quickly moving for cover under tables as security responded. Video from the scene shows Secret Service personnel acting fast, escorting key figures away from the area, including Trump and other officials present at the event. GOVERNOR BALA INSPECTS GOVERNMENT HOUSE EXPANSION 


His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has inspected the ongoing renovation and expansion of the Bauchi State Government House this evening. 


During the exercise, the Governor went round to supervise the quality of the project and called on the contractors handling it to ensure effective and qualitative projects. 


It could be recalled that Governor Bala Mohammed has awarded the renovation and expansion of the Government House which will have some new and modern edifices out of which includes modern hospital, lodges and advanced offices.


Governor Bala was during the inspection visit accompanied by the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, the Chief of Staff Government House, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa.
