 NAFDAC Reopens Onitsha Drug Market After Month-Long Closure The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reopened the Onitsha Head Bridge drug market, popularly known as 'Ogbo Ogwu', after a month-long closure for sanitization and regulatory enforcement. The market was shut down as part of NAFDAC's nationwide clampdown on fake and substandard medicines. To prevent a recurrence of the issues that led to the closure, NAFDAC has implemented strict administrative conditions for reopening. Shop owners are required to complete documentation and clearance procedures before their shops can be unsealed. A dedicated NAFDAC desk has been established to facilitate the process efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.² According to NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, only shops that meet the conditions will be allowed to resume operations. GOVERNOR BALA INSPECTS GOVERNMENT HOUSE EXPANSION 


His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has inspected the ongoing renovation and expansion of the Bauchi State Government House this evening. 


During the exercise, the Governor went round to supervise the quality of the project and called on the contractors handling it to ensure effective and qualitative projects. 


It could be recalled that Governor Bala Mohammed has awarded the renovation and expansion of the Government House which will have some new and modern edifices out of which includes modern hospital, lodges and advanced offices.


Governor Bala was during the inspection visit accompanied by the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, the Chief of Staff Government House, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
