 There was no evidence that he slept with the girl” – Yomi Fabiyi gives update on Baba Ijesha’s case Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has given an update on embattled Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha’s case. Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court.   President Muhammadu Buhari sends warm greetings to Hon. Babatunde Ogala, SAN, former National Legal Adviser of All Progressives Congress (APC), on his 60th birthday, July 15, 2021, joining family and friends to celebrate with the party stalwart, whose knowledge and experience have been most invaluable to the country.

President Buhari felicitates with the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association and professional colleagues of the legal luminary as they roll out drums to savour the milestone with the former lawmaker, administrator and counsel to many organisations and governments.

The President affirms that Hon. Ogala's admirable profile in his career can only be attributed to his fear of God, love for humanity and passion for showing kindness and thoughtfulness in all endeavours, further evidenced in making sacrifices and working selflessly for the good of others and the country.

President Buhari notes the contributions of the former APC Legal Adviser to the growth of democracy and good governance in the country, most profoundly in interpreting the constitution and manifesto of the party and guiding leaders to keep their promises.

As the notable lawyer and party loyalist turns 60, the President prays for longer life and more wisdom to serve the country.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
