OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Report reaching Omonaijablog has it that, Zamfara State civil servants have received their July salary alerts to enable them  celebrate  E'idil Kabir Sallah celebration.


In the same development, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State His Excellency Bello Muhammad Matawalle wishes all the good people of Zamfara state a fruitful Sallah celebrations while urging the good people of the state to use the period to pray for the insecurity challenges affecting the state and the country at large.


Our correspondent reported that, Gov. Matawalle  was quoted to have describes Zamfara state civil servants as partners in progress whose welfare packages would continue to remains his topmost priority.


Governir Matawalle said; "thanksgiving should be made to Allah (SWT) to help restore peace, and oneness among the people of Zamfara and Nigeria as a nation. Saying issues of insecurity in this country could be a thing of the past when we all join hands in prayers and fighting kidnapping banditry and all the acts of insecurity."



The Governor expressed his profound gratitude to all members of state civil servants, and all citizens of zamfara state who are working day and night tirelessly to ensure a smooth and hitch free administration of which it will be impossible to achieve anything. 



Governor Matawalle therefore assures the citizens that their welfare will be his topmost priority and that he is doing everything in his power to ensure everyone is safe, sound, secured and happy.
