 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University. Tinsel Actor Victor Olaotan Is Dead

Veteran Nollywood actor, Victor Olatoye Olaotan, is dead.

The shocking news was made known to newsmen by his publicist, Demola SANYAOLU, on behalf of his family.

Victor Olatoye Olaotan clocked 69 years on February 17, 2021.

He battled with after-accident complications.

The Tinsel actor has been bedridden for five years after he was involved in a ghastly accident.

The actor was driving to a movie set in 2016 when the accident took place around Apple Junction, in Festac, Lagos.

In 2018, the actor requested financial aid to facilitate his treatments outside the country, after two years of being incapacitated.

Shortly after, Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, agreed to settle his bill of about N39m.
