 Aguiyi Orders Investigation into Trans Nkisi Mining Site Over Environmental Compliance By Amaka Isikala The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, has ordered an investigation into the environmental compliance status of a mining site at Trans Nkisi, Onitsha, following concerns over extensive land degradation and its possible contribution to the growing gully erosion threatening the community. The directive followed an inspection visit to the site on August 1, during which the commissioner was accompanied by leaders of the Trans Nkisi community. The visit formed part of the ministry's ongoing assessment of environmentally sensitive locations across the state in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's Fifth Pillar of Development, Environment and Urban Regeneration. My heartfelt condolences to my friend, brother and colleague, His Excellency, Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun state, on the passing of his dear father, Dr. Emmanuel Abiodun.


Papa lived a fulfilled life, and answered the clarion call at the ripe age of 89.


On behalf of my family, and the good people of Lagos state, we commiserate with Governor Dapo Abiodun, and pray that the Lord comforts him and his loved ones during this period.


May Papa’s soul find rest with God. Amen.
