PDP Mourns General Olurin

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) mourns the death of former Military Administration of Oyo state, former sole administrator of Ekiti state and its 2011 governorship candidate in Ogun state, General Tunji Olurin (rtd).

The party describes Gen. Olurin as a courageous and disciplined military officer, excellent administrator and dynamic democrat, who gave his skills, energy and resources towards the unity, stability and development of our nation.

Our party recalls how, as military administrator of Oyo and later as sole administrator of Ekiti state, Gen. Olurin exerted himself in instilling policies and reforms that enhanced productivity, good governance and transparency in the administration of the respective states.

As the governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2011 governorship election in Ogun state, Gen. Olurin’s acceptability and popularity among the people; arising from his well-known dedication to duty, sense of humility and love for humanity came to the fore.

Indeed, our party mourns. Our thoughts and prayers go to the Olurin family, the PDP fold in Ogun state as well as the government and people of Ogun state as we pray to God to grant Gen. Olurin eternal rest and to us all, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
