 Press Release: Every Hisbah Officer Is a Peace and Security Ambassador in His Community. Kano State Governor Alh.Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed the determination of his administration to ensure security and peace  for the protection of lives and property across the state. The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Sani Auwal, made the commitment during a stakeholders meeting on the contribution of shari'a sector institutions toward promoting peace and security in Kano State. The meeting was organized by the Kano State Hisbah Board and held at the Coronation hall Government House, Kano. He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and urged the Hisbah Board to focus more on providing intelligence reports to conventional security agencies, rather than limiting efforts to moral enforcement alone. CUSTOM SERVICE SEIZES OVER 200 MOTORCYCLES FROM BANDITS IN KATSINA.{PHOTO}

The operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service (NSC) seized no fewer than 202 motorcycles from suspected bandits and other criminals in Katsina State between August and September.


Chedi said that the motorcycles, mostly Boxers and Jencheng models, were intercepted around forests close to borders.


“We suspected that the motorcycles were used for conveyance of petrol, food items and smuggled items to bandits in the forest.


“Most of the people we seized the motorcycles from fled and no one came to claim the motorcycles,’’ the controller said.
