 EFCC Arraigns Austrian For Undeclared $800,585, €651,505 At Lagos Airport The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, Okotie Eboh, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, January 9, 2026, arraigned one  Kavlak Onal, an Austrian national arrested by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, for allegedly failing to declare the sums of $800,575 and €651,505 in his possession. He was arraigned before Justice Yelim Bogoro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi , Lagos.  Onal who was scheduled to travel on Emirates Airline to Dubai, was on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 intercepted  during a routine check at the AML/ CFT Currency Declaration Desk at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State will hand over formally to his successor at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, on March 17, 2022.


The governor’s wife, Dr (Mrs) Obiano stated this whle interacting with wives of traditional rulers from all the communities and directors of Catholic Women's Organization, CWO, from five dioceses in Anambra State.


Addressing the women, the governor's wife noted that the airport remains one of the dream projects of her husband, stating that he has pursued the project with immense passion despite discouraging economic downturns. 


On the November 6 governorship poll in Anambra State, Dr (Mrs) Obiano disclosed that it is only the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and her candidate, Professor Chukwuma Soludo that can deliver democratic goodwill to Ndi Anambra.
