 Nigerian makes US Most Wanted List over $1m fraud A Nigerian, Onoriode Ezewu, has been named on the United States Department of Labour’s first-ever Most Wanted List over allegations of money laundering involving fraudulent unemployment benefit claims worth more than $1m. The department’s Office of Inspector General unveiled the list on its website on Wednesday, naming 16 fugitives wanted in cases involving alleged fraud, identity theft, money laundering, labour trafficking and other offences. According to the agency, the cases collectively involve more than $55m allegedly stolen from American taxpayers. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has expressed optimism he will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.


The governor made this known on Monday while featuring on Arise TV programme, monitored by The Nation.


According to him, he said he has all the qualities to succeed as President.


“By the grace of God when I would have [been] sworn in as the president and commander-in-chief taking over from Buhari on May 29, 2023, Nigeria will have a heave of relief,” he said.


“I inherited a state faced with a lot of crimes and criminal activities. I was faced with a state begging for leadership. I inherited a state that required the binding of youths, women and all inclusive governance.


“But today, Kogi is more united than ever before. If what I was able to achieve in Kogi is desired at the national level,” Mr Bello added.
