Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. The flagging off ceremony of Exercise Still water Rivers State was conducted at Ahoada East State on Monday 4 October 2021 by the Executive Governor of River State who was represented by the Secretary to Rivers State Government Dr Tammy Danagogo.


In attendance were, the GOC 6 Division NA, Heads of Sister Security agencies in Rivers State, the Chairman Ahoada East LGA Barr Benjamin Ekeh, HRH EZE Felix Otuwarikpo JP EZE IGBU UPATA III, HRM EZE Cassidy Ikegbidi EZE IGBU AKOH II, and other Commanders of 6 Division affiliated formations and units.

Highlights of the activities were, tour of the Information Center, 6 Division Operations Room and other step up units, free medical outreach for host communities in Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State and group photograph.
