 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. Two killed in Zangon Kataf LGA


Troops of Operation Safe Haven have reported an attack by unidentified persons at Ungwan Taila village , Zangon Kataf LGA, in which two residents were killed.


According to a report to the Kaduna State Government, the troops arrived the location to find that the assailants had killed two residents:

- Helen Lucky

- Hananiah Elijah 


Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed deep regret at further loss of life from such attacks in the area. He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to their familleas. 


In the meantime, the troops will continue search-and-rescue operations in the area. Citizens will be briefed on further updates.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
