 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. ANAMBRA ELECTION: INEC SHIFTS ELECTION IN IHIALA LGA TO NOV. 13.{PHOTO}

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced the postponement of the governorship election in Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State, following alleged irregularities discovered in most communities in the council area.


The announcement was made during collation on Sunday by the officer in charge, Ahmadu Umar.


According to Umar, there were 148,407 registered voters in the LGA, yet there was no election in the council area on Saturday due to the activities of some politicians who tried to rig the election.


The exercise has been rescheduled to hold on Saturday, November 13, 2021, as the INEC official warned trouble makers to steer clear of all the venues where the election will hold in the Ihiala Council area.


Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C Don Adinuba, had alleged that a politician in the area and his group had tried to rig the election.


He noted that some of the hoodlums have been arrested by security agents in the area.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
