 US to revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders The United States on Saturday said it would revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders, over its failure to accept the return of its repatriated citizens, AP reported. Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused the African nation’s government of “taking advantage of the United States”. “Every country must accept the return of its citizens in a timely manner when another country, including the United States, seeks to remove them,” he said. The decision comes at a time when many in Africa fear that South Sudan could return to the civil war that killed 400,000 people between 2013 and 2018. Besides revoking visas, Rubio said Washington would block any new visas “to prevent entry into the United States by South Sudanese passport holders”. KIDNAPPERS OF UNI-ABUJA STAFF DEMAND N300 MILLION RANSOM.[PHOTO].

The abductors of six people at the University of Abuja staff quarters have demanded N50million each as ransom from their families.


The demand for ransom came amidst conflicting reports on social media about the status of that kidnap.


While some said they have been released, the school authority said it was yet to be contacted on the demand for ransom and their release.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
