  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. ABIA STATE OWES DOCTORS UP TO 23 MONTHS SALARY-NMA.{PHOTO}.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Thursday urged three states to pay up doctors’ salaries and allowances.


It said Abia has not paid doctors for up to 23 months.


NMA President, Prof Innocent Ujah, spoke in Abuja during a briefing on the outcomes of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Sokoto.


He said: “The NEC expressed its disappointment with the failure of Abia, Ondo and Ekiti State governments to pay salaries in full and other allowances of doctors and other health workers for up to 23 months in Abia State and down to four months in Ekiti state.
