 Anambra LG Commissioner Warns Against Politicising Town Union Offices, Urges Focus on Development ‎By Chisom Okpala ‎ ‎The Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Barr. Vin Ezeaka, has cautioned individuals who perceive the positions of President-General and Town Union Executive as political offices to desist from such notions. He advised that these institutions should remain dedicated to community development and the collective interests of the people. ‎ ‎Barr. Ezeaka made this admonition on Friday, June 5, while receiving the Ugbenu Town Union Executive in his office at the Old Government House, Awka.  Bandits In Sokoto Burn 42 Passengers


Gunmen suspected to be bandits yesterday burnt scores of passengers traveling from Sabon Birni local government area to Sokoto town.


The incident which occurred at about 9am in the morning happened around Gidan Bawa village where the terrorists always referred to as bandits blocked the road and set the vehicle ablaze.


The Sokoto State Police spokesperson, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, confirmed the incident, noting however that those killed might be about 17.


PRESIDENT BUHARI MOURNS VICTIMS OF BANDITS IN SOKOTO 


President Buhari has expressed sadness over the recent gruesome attack on innocent travellers in Sokoto State. 

Reacting to the incident on Wednesday, President Buhari said, “I am very distressed at the manner of death visited on these hapless citizens who were undertaking a legitimate journey to another part of the country. 

“It shows that the evil this administration is confronting is one that requires the support and involvement of all Nigerians. 

“I extend deep condolences to the families of the victims as I assure that the security agencies will continue to give their all to bring to an end the operations of these despicable people.”
