 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings.  *Customs Reveals True Content of Container Suspected to be Arms Laden*


The Nigeria Customs Service Tincan Island Port Command, Lagos has confirmed items found in a container earlier suspected to be laden with arms. This was done following a joint physical examination comprising the DSS, Police, NAFDAC, SON, Bomb Disposal etc. on Monday 20th December, 2021.


A statement issued by Public Relations Officer, Tincan Island Port Command, CSC Uche Ujeseime on Friday 17th December 2021 had revealed that operatives of Customs had stumbled on the container suspected to be carrying uncustomed goods with specific suspicion of it being pistols and some rounds of Ammunition.


However the result of the initial examination was inconclusive as the exercise was terminated on the discovery of a firearm. A more thorough search of the container was ordered to uncover other arms and ammunition if any.


The examination jointly conducted revealed the following items; Four(4) used Toyota vehicles viz: 2005 lexus Rx 330,2009 Toyota sienna and two(2) units of 2009 Toyota camry as well as undeclared 53 pcs of new 55" LG Televisions and other goods.


Other items include; One (1) unit of Smith & wesson pistol of model SW40V OF 40SW Calibre ,Two(2) packs of 50pcs each of 9mm live ammunition totalling 100pcs , one(1) empty (expended)shell of 9mm ammunition  and eight (8) packs of 25 pcs each of 70mm (totalling 200pcs) and two empty pistol magazines were also found concealed inside bags containing used clothes.


Meanwhile, the Command had swiftly swung into action and a suspect was apprehended and kept in detention at the Customs facility. Thorough investigations are ongoing and it is hoped that results of the findings will reveal masterminds of the illicit import for appropriate sanctions.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
