GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA CELEBRATES TWO YEARS THE SUPREME COURT DECLARED HIM GOVERNOR OF IMO STATE.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE

TWO YEARS DOWN THE LINE: GOV HOPE UZODIMMA MATCHING WORDS WITH ACTIONS IN IMO.

Today the 14th of January is exactly two years the supreme Court of Nigeria gave the landmark judgement on the imo guber case which saw Gov Hope Uzodimma reclaim his stolen mandate and declared as the duly elected Governor of Imo State.

In the past two years, Imo State has been so lucky to have a man of stronger political will and commitment to run her affairs and ensure that the state is not plunged back to her former situation as witnessed during previous administrations.

In the first few months that Gov Hope Uzodimma took over office in 2020, not a few imolites expressed doubts as to whether Gov Hope Uzodinma would be able to mobilize imo back to work giving the infrastructural rot that befell the state then. The reason for their fear was obvious as the then imo was already at the verge of becoming a pariah state. A situation that needed to be salvaged by a leader who knows the onus of administration and governance.

No sooner had the shared prosperity government took over than the #EndSars protest emerged that nearly collapsed the security architecture of the state and the nation at large. there was upsurge in armed robbery, arson, burning of government owned facilities, killing of security agents, etc. As if these were not enough, there came the world dreaded pandemic, the Corona virus which weakened the economy of the state and the nation at large. Giving all this, Gov Hope Uzodinma never relented in his campaign promises despite blackmails, campaign of hate from the opposition.

Rather than been discouraged with the complicated issues that greeted his first few months in office, he rosed to the occasion to proffer solution to them all. He provided succor to the victims of #EndSars and took steps to prevent reoccurrence, he confronted the problem posed by the covid19 pandemic by ensuring that imo people wore masks, observed preventive measures and moreso provided palliatives.

In assessing the shared prosperity administration of Gov Hope Uzodinma in the last two years, it is important to note that Gov Hope Uzodinma inherited a decayed state, imo was at the verge of collapsing infrastructural and administration wise.

Those in imo within the last two years of the administration of Gov Hope Uzodinma would appreciate the fact that Gov Hope Uzodinma so far, has changed the face of imo State. Before Gov Hope Uzodinma took over office, imo State was been regarded as one of the states in the federation with the worse road networks but now the story has changed for better. Those of them who had mocked imo for having bad roads can not but appreciate the infrastructural revolution going on in the state under Gov Hope Uzodinma.

Within the years under review, Gov Hope Uzodinma has reconstructed over 43 roads in imo State, owerri-okigwe and owerri-orlu roads are near completion, a feat yet to be equalled by any Governor in the history of imo State.

Those who drives through the streets of owerri at night can not but appreciate the widening of the reconstructed roads and  beautification done on it. many streets that were hitherto In darkness have been lit up with quality solar street lights and everywhere is as bright as the day. From Evan Enwerem road to Chukwuma nwaoha, imsu junction, Douglas road, Porthacout road, Muhammadu Buhari drive,Relief market road, aladinma road and so many others are well lit. A noticeable feature of the roads reconstructed and rehabilitated by Gov Hope Uzodinma.

Under his 3R agenda, giant feats has been achieved, forcefully grabbed lands has been recovered by the government from the hands of individuals, illegally acquired properties, lands has been recovered and some returned to the original owners. An inkling of the recoveries that has taken in imo is the recovery of Eastern Palm University from the Rescue mission family.

Gov Hope Uzodinma has commenced the reconstruction of the 305 health centers across the state, development centers that were abandoned by previous administrations has now been revived.

The health sector is not left behind in the 3R agenda, over 27 intensive care unit ambulances deployed across the state. Recently, 200 medical students of imo State teaching hospital orlu who spent over 12years due to lack of accreditation graduated thereby increasing resource persons in  State health sector.

The achievements of Gov Hope Uzodinma within two years are too numerous. Gov Hope Uzodinma has shown capacity, passion, leadership and unequalled patriotism, apart from returning imo State to its glory days, he has brought governance to the grassroot, the remaining two years would be cheering good news althrough.

Hope Uzodimma, A Man of Justice

"Let the first act of every morning be to make the following resolve for the day:

- I shall not fear anyone on Earth.

- I shall fear only God.

- I shall not bear ill will toward anyone.

- I shall not submit to injustice from anyone.

- I shall conquer untruth by truth. And in resisting untruth, I shall put up with all suffering."

-Mahatma Gandhi

Imo erupted in wild jubilation, as never before seen, when on the 14th day of January 2020, the Supreme Court in a landmark judgment confirmed and upheld the truth that Senator Hope Uzodimma had the highest number of votes cast, in the 2019 Gubernatorial election in Imo State, and should therefore be returned elected.

It was a judgment that many pundits never saw coming when Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, (JSC), courageously delivered the judgment, without fear or favour and restored justice in Imo State.

This very fact presents Sen. Hope Uzodimma as a child of destiny and a product of Justice. It is evident that the results unlawfully excluded by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in 300 locations in the State were enough to upturn the previous illegality foisted on the State.

The lesson inherent in what transpired on the 14th of January 2020 is a caveat to all who seek to be declared winner, at all costs, in negation to fair play and justice. The long arm of the law, as seen in this case and a litany of many others, has always been patient as it painstakingly serves justice in the end.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma has since gone ahead to serve Imo people, passionately and sacrificially, in spite of the tribulations, perils and machinations that trailed his trajectory, over time. Appointments and projects are now evenly distributed to reach all parts of the State and give everyone a sense of belonging in the task of governing Imo State.

As we mark the 2nd anniversary of this landmark judgement, it is important to spare a moment in appreciation to God who has made it possible for both Imo and her people to have a taste of governance that understands what shared prosperity and justice mean. The transfer of the cannibalized patrimony of Imo back to our people and the rejuvenation of decrepit public utilities all add up to give Imo a new lease of life. In this sense, the justice dispensed by the Supreme Court is massively flooding the nooks and crannies of Imo State with gushes of beautiful and refreshing realities because Justice begets Justice.

All Imo people are therefore enjoined, as lovers of justice, to continue to stand up for justice, as Gov. Uzodimma works assiduously to RECOVER our precious Imo.
