 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Governor Obiano Decorates ADC, Ben Eke as Superintendent Of Police



The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has enjoined all the newly promoted police officers across the country to be alive to their duties, impact positively on others and put in more efforts to their jobs in ensuring security.

Governor Obiano gave the admonition today, Tuesday, 25th January, 2022 at the decoration ceremony of the promoted police officer, Mr Ben Eke who is his ADC.

The event was held at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Awka.

Before his promotion as Superintendent of Police, Mr Eke was Deputy Superintendent of Police.

According to the Governor, promotion comes through hard work and God  encouraged other officers to put in their best, saying that Mr. Eke having been with him since 2014 has done very well, dedicatedly.

Expressing joy, SP Eke thanked the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission for finding him worthy of the promotion.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police,  CP Echeng Echeng, other service commanders, members of the State Executive Council, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Sir Willie Nwokoye, National President of Anambra State Association of Town Union, Barrister Titus Akpudo, friends and well wishers, attended the brief event.
