 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity.  GSM Mobile Service Provider Donates Mobile Clinic To Anambra State Government

A Global System for Mobil Communications network provider has donated a mobile clinic to the Anambra state government, as part of their Coperate Social Responsibility project.


Handing over the mobile clinic to the state government, the Senior Manager, Sales and Trade Development, Core East of the company, Mr. Emmanuel Okereke, represented by Mr. Collins Orji, said the mobile medical intervention scheme is designed to provide primary healthcare services, largely to the women and children in some selected local government areas in the six states of Anambra, Lagos, Gombe, Kano, Kwara and Rivers through mobile trucks, and that the aim is to contribute to the government's efforts to improve access to primary healthcare in underserved communities in Nigeria.


Mr. Okereke noted that the the scope of the project to be implemented covers the execution of medical outreaches for twelve months in communities and markets, and the services will include medical screening, diagnosis and consultations, treatment and provision of drugs, referrals and health awareness creation.


Receiving the mobile clinic on behalf of Anambra state government, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu thanked the mobile service provider for assisting the State government in the health sector, and urged like-mind organizations to emulate the company's good gesture.


On his part, the Anambra state Commissioner for health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, said that the initiative is in it's third phase and that the state is happy to partner with the company and revealed that mobile clinic will operate based on demand, need and planning, among others.
