 In a first for Indian Railways, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has been successfully tested inside a train coach.  The trial took place on Tuesday inside an air-conditioned coach of the Panchavati Express, which runs daily between Manmad in Nashik and Mumbai. This ATM facility is part of a joint effort by the Bhusawal division of Indian Railways and the Bank of Maharashtra. The ATM worked smoothly during the journey, with only minor interruptions when the train passed through the no-network zone between Igatpuri and Kasara, an area known for its tunnels. Despite the short signal losses, the ATM continued to function well and served its purpose. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the ATM on social media, calling it the first of its kind in India. This unique idea came from a meeting under the Innovative and Non-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (INFRIS) by the Bhusawal division.
