 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

LAGOS DIRECTORATE OF CITIZENS RIGHTS GETS NEW DIRECTOR

… Tasks Counsel on Optimal Service Delivery

Ms. Adetutu Oshinusi has been appointed as the new Director, Directorate of Citizens Rights (DCR), Lagos State Ministry of Justice following the deployment of her predecessor.

Speaking at her maiden meeting with all members of staff of the Office, Oshinusi tasked the workers on the need for improved productivity and optimum service delivery to the citizenry

She emphasised that it is high time all the Counsel in the Directorate up the ante in a bid to boost the State's Human Rights record, saying, "It is important to show absolute dedication and commitment to your official duties in order to improve on the State’s Human Rights record".

The new Director also urged the staff to extend her the maximum cooperation given to her predecessor in order to achieve the set goals and objectives of the Directorate.

Ms. Adetutu Oshinusi, who was a Director in the Department of Public Prosecution until her deployment, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991 and has wealth of experience practising law in both the Private and Public Sectors.
