 YORUBA TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, LAGOS CHAPTER, CELEBRATES OUTGOING TG/PS, MRS. ANIKE ADEKANYE The Yoruba Teachers' Association of Nigeria (Ẹgbẹ Akomọlẹdẹ àti Àṣà Yorùbá), Lagos State Chapter, held a colourful ceremony to celebrate the outgoing Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye.  The event,which took place at the Immaculate Heart Comprehensive High School Hall, Maryland, was attended by dignitaries, cultural performers, educators, and students including the Lagos State Chairman of the Yoruba Teachers' Association, Prince Aderemi Adeyemi, along with members of the Elders-in-Council, led by Asiwaju Olasunkanmi Tella.  Prince Adeyemi delivered heartfelt tributes to Mrs. Adekanye for her years of meritorious service, describing her as a great influencer who opened doors for the development of the Association. Late Nollywood actor 'Mr Samuel Adimabua Obiago,a.k.a Daddysam is set to be buried on the 11th of February 2022 at Asaba,Delta state.
Service of songs 5pm-6:30pm at Arcade Along Nnebisi Road  by St. Joseph Catholic Church,Asaba,Delta State.
Friday 11 Feb 2022,6am: Body leaves Asaba Specialist hospital for lying in state at his residence at No. 6 Akegwure lane by Ideal computers off Jesus Saves Road.
9am: Funeral service at Arcade Nnebisi Road by St Joseph 's Catholic church Asaba,Delta State.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
