 GOVERNOR UZODIMMA CALLS FOR LOVE, UNITY, HIGHLIGHTS PROGRESS IN IMO STATE  In his Easter message delivered after the Holy Eucharist at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Parish in Omuma, Oru East LGA, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma CON, emphasized the central theme of the Easter season — Love. The Governor called on citizens to extend the spirit of Easter beyond mere celebration, encouraging them to embody love, unity, and compassion in their daily interactions and civic responsibilities. He commended the people of Imo State for their steadfast commitment to these virtues and urged continued efforts to promote a caring and united society. OPERATION HADIN KAI: DECISIVE BLOW, AS TROOPS NEUTRALIZE BHT/ISWAP TERRORISTS IN BIU ATTEMPTED INFILTRATION.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

Troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force(JTF)  North East(NE) Operation HADIN KAI(OPHK) have dealt decisively with Boko Haram(BH) and Islamic State West Africa Province(ISWAP) terrorists, who made frantic attempt to infiltrate the ancient town of Biu, Borno State.  


The criminal elements met their Waterloo, when the gallant troops of 231 Battalion and 331 Artillery Regiment  swiftly routed them in a failed incursion at Maina Hari village in Biu on Saturday15 January 2022.


In the intense battle, troops unleashed superior fire power on the terrorists, neutralizing five BH/ISWAP terrorists, compelling others to withdraw in disarray.. 


The gallant troops also captured  from the terrorists, one gun truck, one Deshka M  Anti Aircraft Gun, one HK 21 Machine Gun, one Rocket Propelled Grenade Bomb, 137 rounds of 12.7mm Anti-Aircraft Rounds amongst others. Troops are currently in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
