 Police Fire Teargas At Protesters In Port Harcourt Tension erupted in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, on Monday as officers of the Rivers State Police Command fired teargas at protesters gathered at the Isaac Boro Park. The protesters, members of the 'Take It Back Movement', defied police warnings, insisting on their right to assemble. The demonstrators, who arrived at the venue as early as 9 am, were met with heavy police presence. "Nobody can tell us where not to gather, we are Rivers people," they shouted, standing firm despite police warnings. The standoff escalated, with officers deploying teargas to disperse the crowd, chasing protesters, and beating up some, including journalists. The protest aimed to express grievances against the government, including the repeal of the Cybercrime Act and the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. United States Embassy Resumes Drop Box Visa Application In Nigeria



The United States Embassy in Nigeria has announced the resumption of the drop box service or interview waiver in Nigeria.The Drop Box visa renewal programme allows certain visa applicants who have previously been issued U.S. visas to renew their visas without attending an interview. Nigeria was removed from the waiver eligibility in 2018.
